About This Ministry
With the help of many others over the years it has moved from the top of the hill above Castle rock to Rostercomb then now to it’s present site on the bluff of Wenatchee Heights.
The original cross was built in 1994 and was 30’ tall. A few years later we put up a 42’ tall one. We were required to take it down after each season.
It was moved to roster comb in 2002 where we could leave it permanently and light it for special occasions. Now in 2009 through the generous donation of several business in town we have it in what I believe is it’s best location. Some of the contributors to help put it up are Star Rentals for the use of a crane to take it down and put it back up again, Industrial Electric & Mechanical for operating the crane, Apple Valley Sand and Gravel for the concrete base and supports structure and Woodland Landscape and Construction doing the excavation. It is amazing how God works all things out.
Early Feb. 2021 new lights were installed by Localtel and their very capable tower crew. Much thanks to them.
Thank you also to Renée Hartman from DataWeb Programming for building, designing and maintaining the website.
The cross as it stands today is 110’ tall and has about 150 10 watt LED lights on it. There is a crew of men that have volunteered to work on it and keep it maintained. The main purpose is to bring Glory to God the Father and His only Son, Jesus Christ. Being a blessing to many that need encouragement from time to time is also glorifying to God.
The land is private property and we would like everyone to respect this and not visit the site. I would hate to lose this very good area to light the valley with the love of Jesus.
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement to keep this going.
