In Honor of Megan Ames…
In Honor of Marlene Tate…
Marlene Tate passed way Sunday after a long battle with back problems.
The arthritis in her back made it painful everyday.
It comforts us to know she is now in no pain.
She loved to watch the us boys’ play in all our sports and was our biggest fan!
She loved collecting deer figurine or anything else associated with them.
Crocheting making blankets for all the family and was the most giving
person you would meet.
All the Tate and VanHoven famliy miss her dearly but we knew she was a
Christian and is now in Heaven.

In memory of Earl H. Nelson Jr…
In memory of Earl H. Nelson Jr., loving family man, devoted friend, loyal employee, a man with a gentle and loving heart. He loved his Lord and died in peace knowing that he would be whole once again. I can’t help but believe he is skiing the best powder slopes with old friends, fishing for the biggest salmon and playing with his dog, Sutton, who never left his side in his last years. Earl Nelson was a good man; he loved and was loved by all who knew him.

The cross is lit in memory of Cassie Miller. Cassie was 10 when she passed at Children’s Hospital from complications brought on by the flu. Not a day goes bye that she isn’t sorely missed and lovingly remembered. She had a special understanding of her relationship with God and asked us before she passed “Why would you want to be here on earth and not be healthy when you could live forever with God in a better place?” Ken, Cris, Chelcee, and Kirby Miller and their extended families.

On this Veteran’s Day…
On this Veteran’s Day, we wish to let all veterans know that they are special and we honor them no matter what capacity they served in. This was their part in making sure our nation continues.
Within our own church, the only living World War II Veteran WE KNOW OF is Wiley Jones, who served in the Navy. The Korean War Veterans WE KNOW OF are Rod Scott, who served in the Navy; Al Christoph, who served in the Army; and Doug Steer, who served in the Canadian Army Airborne, now a U.S. Citizen. The Vietnam Veterans WE KNOW OF are Ron Melcher, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps, now living near Ephrata; and James Hall, who served in the Army Paratroopers. Currently serving in Iraq now that WE KNOW OF are Tameika Jensen, Army; J. Austin Miller, Marines; Michael Reynoldson, Army; Tyler Berry, Marines; Chip Millette, Army; Matthew Millette, National Guard; and, of course, our own Washington National Guard, 81st Brigade Combat Team. Thank you, Lord, for keeping them safe and bringing them back.
Additionally, we would like to thank these other veterans WE KNOW OF that have also served our nation: Jerry Chapton, Army; Jim Miller, Army; Wayne Cooper, Navy; Ted Davies, Army; Dianne Davies, Army; Pastor Jay Caron, Navy; Pastor Jim Jensen, Army; Gabriel Reynoldson, Army Air Force; Gary D. Zimmerman, Army; Richard C. Johnson, Army. Those in service, but still in training: Justin K. Dennis, Army (in Kansas); John M. Keefer, Navy (U.S.S. Peleliu); and Jonathan Tolliver, Army (Missouri).
We realize there are many veterans from the last 65 years that we do not know about, and we would like to honor all of them today. Especially we want to honor the Vietnam Vets because the media people did not want them to know it was only the raucous minority who they put in the papers. The huge majority could not get the media to print good news about you (the media is doing the same now to the Iraq veterans and to those currently serving over there). Please accept that the majority at home were praying for you and are thankful you served and are back.

I feel comforted when I can see the lit cross on the hill…
I feel comforted when I can see the lit cross on the hill at night across the valley. It reminds me of God’s love and his promise to us.I appreciate that we still have that silent reminder.
I would like to remember beautiful Esther, who God chose to intercede for his people. My prayer goes out to her spirit that is alive today in the face of this present darkness.

We light the cross tonight in memory of Tricia Hopkins…
We light the cross tonight in memory of Tricia Hopkins, our very much loved mother, daughter, friend, and Omama. Tricia taught us by example how to journey through life as a faithful servant, how to choose the blessings in each day, how to press into God and welcome the peace of Christ, and finally, how to surrender completely and willingly to the perfect timing and will of God as he called her home that beautiful May morning. We have all been blessed by having Tricia in our lives.
