Dorothy

Happy 93rd Birthday to our wonderful Mother! We know you look for the Cross each night, Dorothy… Tonight it glows brightly in honor of you and our loving God.

Ron Laycock

The lighting of the Cross on Mar.24 is in memory of my dear husband and father of our 4 sons who died of acute leukemia a year ago. When my boys and I left his hospital room that night, the Cross was brightly lit. Then a little after midnight we were called back to the hospital and Ron had passed away. When we left the hospital after he died, the Cross was dark. It was so significant and something my family and I will never forget. The lit Cross has become not only a beacon to my family but also a promise from above that we will see him again.

Ron Bonwell

Tonight the cross shines brightly over our beautiful valley in loving memory of our father, husband and grandfather Ron Bonwell, he was the strength of this family, everyone that knew him loved him, even when he forced his opinion on them. He was usually right. He is finally free of the horrible disease that took his life, Idopathic pulmonary fibrosis. We will miss you in this life but shall someday see you again. We love you and miss you terribly.

I was 11 years old when Daddy died… that was back in 1994. That Christmas, a beautiful golden cross appeared on the moutainside directly behind my house near #2 canyon. I had never seen it before but was in awe because it so reminded me of the golden cross my dad often wore before his passing. He had a fantastic relationship with Jesus and introduced me to him.

Seven years later, my husband and I were getting married. The night before the wedding we walked out of the basement of our church, which overlooked the valley, and I saw that shining reminder on the hill.

I can no longer count the number of times that beacon has brought me to joy-filled tears to my eyes. As I plunged into the vast unknown of college, of ministry, of facing the struggles that God has allowed in our lives… that beacon has been a tool that God has used to remind me to look up, see the stars who declare his faithfulness and to be of good cheer.

Now, my niece who is 9 has even ridden up to the cross to light it.. what an amazing turn-around from helping me through the grieving of my father to the joy of celebrating the birth of my niece… Thank you to everyone that has ever helped to keep this cross lit as a beacon of hope. Thank you to Randy Smith for being obedient in the idea.

Thank you… 123

James A. Miller

Tonight the cross shines brightly over our beautiful valley in loving memory of my father James A. Miller. My father was a man of silent strength. Everyone that knew him loved him. I couldn’t have been more proud of my dad. He is finally free of a body that gave him so many struggles and so much pain. “Spread your wings and fly. We will be miss you in this life but shall someday see you again. I love you Dad.” ^j^

Two Sponcers tonight!

Happy Birthday!
My Mom was born today, 64 years ago. She loves to look at the cross when its lit high upon the mountain. She can see it really good from her back yard in East Wenatchee.
